South American travel diary, Part 1. June 2010

This is a roundup of the first month of my shared travels through Brazil and South America, in the form of a journal or diary. I tried to write down the highlights of almost each day, as a means of remembering special events and to share with the people who care. This post turned out to be quite long, with the personally more interesting and intuitive bits appearing near the end, as I became more relaxed and immersed in the traveling experience.
